Hello everyone,
I am sorry for the lack of updates, but other than a few email updates to Gia now and then to let her know I'm still alive, nothing else has really changed with the game.
I know you all have been waiting to hear something about what is going on. I have been agonizing over what to do about the game, since I do really want to keep it alive, but I don't think its going to happen, despite all our hopes.
So after more than 15 years of great memories, with a heavy heart, I am going to officially declare Dragon's Gate closed... at least for now.
I plan to keep the message boards and website around, since if at some point in the future it becomes possible to resurrect the game, either in its current form or in some kind of sequel, I am fairly sure that this will still be the best place to contact anyone who is still interested.
Before anyone else asks, I have received several offers from people interested in picking up the game to run themselves, but honestly there is no way I can do that, due to the agreements made to get the rights to run the game after the game center was closed.
I know that the community has already been feeling the loss of the game, and this message is probably not going to make anyone feel any better about it, but I'm sure the community will continue beyond the game. The friends and memories you've made in DGate are the true value of this game, and you'll have them long after today.
Thank you for all your years of loyalty and dedication to Dragon's Gate, the Elders, Mythic, and Mark and I. You are all what made this game so special for myself and everyone else who has played over the years.
