There is something here I don't understand. When I met Ragarn he was the guildmaster of the Mage Guild (there was only one Mage Guild at that time), and he became my first teacher and my friend. He was not a member of the Merchants Guild. Are we talking about the same Ragarn? If we are talking about the same Ragarn, when did he change?

I could imagine the Ragarn I knew having a conversation with the Merchants Guild:

Merchant: You must join the Merchants Guild in order to open a shop in Spur.
Ragarn: I don't want to.
Merchant: You must at least pay dues to the Merchants Guild in order to have a shop in Spur.
Ragarn: I don't want to.
Merchant: You must offer us some compensation if we are to allow you to do business.
Ragarn: I won't call down Mighty Fire Spheres on your other shops.
Merchant: That seems fair.

As far as questioning that Ragarn pays proper tribute to Sa, I think only Sa could be in a position to know such things. In fact, there is clear evidence that he has payed proper tribute to Sa since Sa has blessed him with the very special ability to implant and renew runes. Also, when I knew Ragarn, I was one of Sa's mages, and Ragarn taught me that it was important for mages to pay tribute to Sa through donations. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Ragarn donated the profits from the shop to Sa.

I understand that those who wish to see Sa's mark on Ragarn's shop wish only to honor Sa, an endeavor that I think we all can agree is a fine one. In this endeavor, please consider that Sa is magick, and Ragarn honors Sa in a profound way. The very nature of the services provided by the shop demonstrate an absolute sacrament.

May Sa fill your hearts with magick,
