Just to toss in 2 more cents on the USPS

Im my apartment building (like most apartment buildings) there is a central mail room for the entire complex. Now when packages are brought in by any of the mail carriers, they are most often left in the office and there is one of those "sorry we missed you stickers" put on the persons mailbox so they know they have a package. FedEx leaves those notices, so does UPS and DHL. USPS on the other hand leaves you no notice so I then have to get into arguments with management that "Even though I do not have a package slip, I'm pretty sure the vintage posters I ordered a month ago are sitting in that office".

On a complete side note: if you ever move into an apartment complex with multiple buildings, make sure your Apartment number does not match a building number (for example Apartment 304 and Building 304) People have tried to leave me other peoples packages, deliver me food, and help me move out.

I think government services are just living proof of Murphy's Laws. When you don't need them, they work fine usually: junk mail usually has no problem making it to your mailbox but that postcard a friend sent you on vacation never makes it. Cops have no problem and are very professional when giving you a speeding ticket but when they investigate your apartment that was burglarized the officer was literally whistling Dixie.
