That's a really weird argument from you, Joel. It sounds like you're saying that working for low wages and no benefits is better than eating bugs to survive. While that may be true, how you think that should be sufficient for the world's economic superpower is bizarre. We should be able to provide those who work hard with a decent standard of living, and I don't think that indoor plumbing, 2 TVs, and personal transportation for someone who spends 40 hours a week working to support a family is too much to ask. God forbid those people should ask for health care, too.

Oh, and I've seen the Penn & Teller Wal-Mart thing. I love their vile humor. The preponderance of evidence is still on the side of Wal-Mart screwing their own people for the benefit of the consumers, who do get a great deal. I shop there from time to time because of that. Like I said in another thread, if you give me a good product at a good price, I'm selfish enough to not care where the profits go. I definitely won't argue for them, though. You want a company that ACTUALLY treats its employees well, look to Patagonia.
