I don't think there's a point in looking for great meaning here. Maybe shallow meaning, but the artistic process is pretty random. You develop these characters and ideas out of chance inspirations more so than intent, though you do get very ... set? about the integrity of these creations as they've evolved, whether or not some aspect of it has ever come up.
