I find you speaking at all offensive, so if I ever hear you speak you should be fined. Why?

Ah, but arent you reducing the problem to a dichotomy? By that reasoning either Im not allowed to speak at all or Im allowed to do as I wish no restraints whatsoever. Life doesnt break down that way. But, to clarify: If my speech is offensive to you then I should desist. If on the job or at a social gathering I attempt to engage you in a conversation about politics and you indicate that you do not wish such a conversation then I should desist. However, if at a social gathering I am speaking with someone else at a normal level and you do not wish to hear that conversation then you should move out of hearing range. This is called politeness. You shouldnt inhibit my right to share my ideas with another nor should I attempt to force my ideas upon you.

Furthermore, if you are at a Christian social event and you desire to talk about graphic sex acts you are in the wrong. As well, if you are at a sex event and you desire to talk about such things it is appropriate. Life is subtle and there are rules. This is called civilization.

What you seem to be expressing a preference to is chaos. A world where might is right and the meek among us must suffer the moods of the aggressive. I certainly do not wish such a world. Politeness, discipline, restraint, these are the qualities of advanced peoples. These are the qualities of powerful people capable of doing good in the world. Those who would force themselves on hapless victims for the sake of self-entertainment are savages. They are the acid that eats away at the strong bridge, they are the virus that takes down the strong man.

Actually, why not? Following/Stalking has it's own set of laws, but as far as saying BA BA BA repeatadly, you can't do anything about it. As long as it doesn't endanger anothers life (FIRE!)

Again the dichotomy. My life consists of much more than my body breathing. By involving me in your aggression you are destroying my life. A slave has life, do you consider that sufficient and indeed desirable? Or would you consider an aspect of that persons life to be destroyed (trust me, if you are abused you always remember it, it is a part of you, leaving that situation doesnt take it away). When we force ourselves upon others we trap them, even if for a few moments, and force them to be involved in our thoughts. Cursing is exactly such a circumstance.

***The above was written immediately after reading a response***

Ive not responded for a couple of weeks because this like many arguments these days is irrational. It is flatly obvious that no one should be allowed to curse in public, even if they are shouting out their window. No rational mind could think otherwise. Thus the problem, how do you communicate with irrational people?

Its like my post a couple of months back when someone described my religion as being crazy since I believe God created the universe. That person likely believes that the universe and then life just popped into existence by magic. How do you communicate complex ideas with people who believe that things pop into existence? It is virtually impossible.

Note, by irrational I dont mean stupid. I mean lacking the means by which to organize impressions of reality into ordered structures and to operate on such structures with a method, keeping in mind that any given individual can be rational about one thing and irrational about another. By asserting that we are free to verbally assault other people, by intent or disregard, a person demonstrates themselves to be irrational, to be primitive, to be tribal. You cannot do that. It is offensive, it is abusive, it is callous, it is indifferent, it is pathological, it is destructive, it is chaos.
