Well damage wise hand and a half weapons have gotten a little better now that strength spells got a bump. Not saying that they are anywhere near two-hander but I am glad about the damage boosting spells getting fixed a bit. I just think short weapons need to be less delay. They do pitiful damage and when you are low level and 3/3 progression trying to hunt off uses you tend to notice that you aren't getting anymore uses from a monster and they are only hurt...sort of encourages PTing anyway, so that argument is not valid. As it is now I would rather sit in skellie closet than hunt with weapons since I need the +hit bonus from shorts just to hit often enough when hunting....I think it is the 3/3 progression of some classes along with how the payouts have been dropped that is what forces PTing more than anything. There is no reason to hunt with a weapon right now for a 3/3 progression class when you can PT and use your main skill to hunt. I am just trying to think of a way that will allow mages/hearts/psions/thiefs to hit often enough while hunting and build up the damage in order to make hunting more viable with a weapon. It works out to either lowering the rate of short weapons or raising the damage with them.
