Look, my whole reason for this thread was to get more padding and sharpening peddles. Giant armor is such an advantage that it would be nice to be able to make heavy armor protect a little more since the only races that can wear giant armor are thugians and oog-ras and they already do more damage than anyone else with the benifit of taking less. The majority of oogs/thugs in the game are barbarians and with how out of wack barbarians are I can't see any possible reason for giving them that much more of an advantage. True, barbarian zerk BA is a major inconsistancy with the system, but then again so is giant armor.

These peddles used to be regular occurances and it would be easy for elders to just not allow giant armor to be padded, as I said before rafe. I didn't want this to turn into a mechanics debate, but unfortunately the issue is mechanical advantage and disadvantage causeed by allowing only a very select few to have something that others do not have access to which causes them to become out of balance with the rest of the playing field. And since attenuation was created for those race/class combos with much higher DR it makes no sense to give it to Barbarians as well. Both of these things are like allowing certain athletes to abuse steroids because they were slower than everyone else but were already much much stronger than everyone else to begin with. It is akin to giving Warren Sapp something that would make him as fast as Ray Lewis but allowing him to stay as big and strong as he already is.

I would have suggested nerf barbarians back to how they were, but with two swings max. Keep the way zerk uses work now and ftg loss as it is now, but take away the zerk BA and giant armor. This is what really needs to happen and I would have suggested these things, but I just figured it would turn into a mechanical debate and that allowing for padding peddles and sharpening peddles so that people could even the odds a bit would go over better. Guess I should have just stuck with my origional thought since it is the only true way to make things come back more into balance.
