How many 18-25 year olds are in congress or the senate? HMMM?

There are none and will never be any because you must be 25 to be in the Congress or House.

And believe me, none of my friends are apathetic. Ever spend time with a bunch of pissed off punk rockers and metal heads?

Those people are very political.
No offense intended, but I don't see either "pissed off punk rockers" or "metal heads" busy discussing the politics of the day, or doing their own research into why to vote for a Candidate or a Proposition. What tends to be the political agenda for groups like this is that one person takes a stand, and the group follows along. That's not really being political, it's more being sheep. Perhaps your group is different, and each of you have your own political beliefs, you discuss topics and everyone brings something different to the table, but then you'd be different than 99% of your age group. There are a few exceptions to every rule, but your age group 18-25 tend to either go along with the crowd, or be apathetic. There is very little self at that age, you are defined by things like . . . being a punk rocker, or being a metal head, etc., most kids that age are too busy being and conforming to spend time delving into political positions and options.

Oh and after seeing universal health care first hand in a number of countries, I can say that it doesn't have any of the problems most of you are making up. If you have a problem you go see a doctor. If you're sick, you get medicine. Everybody is the same. It doesn't matter if you're rich or poor EVERYBODY gets healthcare and generally its whomever is most sick gets treated first.
Seeing and participating are usually two different things. Add to that simple things like how this Government can screw even the easiest things up, and how the "Mass Health Care," or "HMO's" are already poorly ran, you have a recipe for a huge mess. HMO's were put in place as cheaper health care for larger groups of people. Allowing businesses that could not, or would not be able to afford Health Care for their employees to have a more reasonable option. Again, not everyone, but most people who belong to HMO's dislike it, especially if they have had any other type of Insurance before hand. You are exactly right when you say that the sickest get treated first, but sickest in almost every case doesn't mean minor injuries, colds, etc. I have very good insurance but have had two experiences with both an HMO and Government hands deciding care to know that it's not what I want. My daughter broke her ankle at work. Their insurance was Kaiser. We went to the "office" they sent us to, and after waiting for 2 hours, the nurse walks out, states that since it's an injury that will need X Rays they won't be able to handle it, we have to go to their Hospital which is about 35 minutes away. Not like they didn't know that the moment we walked in and signed in and could have sent us immediately, took them 2 hours to tell us what should have been determined instantly. At the Hospital, since it was a Friday night, they estimated the wait to be 4-5 hours. I put my foot down, went back to our own Hospital, used my insurance and my daughter was X Ray'd and casted in under 90 minutes. I told them flat out, this is my child, she will not be left to suffer up to 7 hours with a broken ankle, you can pay my Insurance, or fight it out with them, but I refuse to use your insurance. They paid. My brother on the other hand, was injured on the job and due to the fact he works for the City, going to all their doctors and having all the approvals necessary, it's taken 2 years for him to get the surgery to repair the damage done. He's been out of work for 18 months so far. Seeing how things are run now, and knowing what our DMV's / Social Security Offices / Welfare Offices / General Hospitals are like, yeah, you will get helped and get medicine, but how long will it take and what will the quality of service be like?

The next time you consider Universal Health Care, think DMV, Friday afternoon, but instead of being able to handle each customer in 7-10 minutes you need to take 1-2 hours with them. If that doesn't scare you, nothing will.
