The stagnant method of reconstruction and ignoring each other's voices leads us no where. While the Taathian efforts have rebuilt the roads around our own Temple, and even allowed us to gain entrance within the Temple of our Great Lord, the City shall never be completely rebuilt unless our religions find a suitable goal which all can strive for. We have seen the frontacian push for a government based off guilds and offices that will lead only to more division and idleness. We have seen Foom propose that the City completely be divided into factions based on religion, leading to conflict. I have offered my own suggestion that the Council be based upon a combination of the three major faiths and the arm of the Militia, itself. I ask anyone to find the faults within such an argument, but that is beside the point. The true point is, all these suggestions are within these offices, but they are nothing without support. So, I ask those who would read this to voice your support for any of the suggested Councils for without a foundation this City will remain ruins. While we have accomplished much, other regions within the City are still within a state of desolation. The previous government of this City is destroyed, and through failure has shown evidence of its flaws. Another must be chosen, regardless of what form it takes. From what I have seen, none of these concepts for government are laid in stone, nor even openly supported amongst the public. Choose one if you will, or add your own ideas to a pre-existing one. The foundation of a government would do just that. I hope you find it equally amusing that some are interested within restoring a population to the City, itself. If that little comment there was intended to be some sort of insult, well, we've cleared the rubble surrounding our Temple and the road connecdting it to the main gate. What have you done? Instead of half-witted insults, you should've focused on any actual, factual advantages of your Council, in which I see few. The disadvantages: A Council in which the groups of people are led by members based off Guild instead of religion. Unfortunately, Guild members are not as close knit as you would believe. I've not met one individual who would be comfortable with another member of their guild making choices for them, especially of another religion. Would you, yourself, wish a Taathian mage speaking of your desires, Sirus? Or were you intending to twist this plan to place yourself in that little seat of power? A Council where the Frontacians once more have taken a seat of power, similar to that of the previous Council. Unfortunately, I havn't seen any Frontacian activity within Emjedah besides that of yourself, Sirus. How odd, then who exactly would be leading this group of representatives? The lack of population needed to fill these seats. You have quite a number, but it would take some time to fill that amount of positions. We need a Council that will be filled instantly and focused upon the repair and defense of the City. The lack of unity created within this plan. Your proposal does not bring anyone together, aside from the racial ties of Frontacians within their own grouping. The guilds won't be united past their personal views and faiths in order to rebuild Emjedah, and it certainly won't do much to attract additional support to the City. See, now wasn't that better than simply stating that you could not read, Sirus? Religion unites it's followers beneath a doctrine of faith. It shall attract numbers who wish to repair and improve the state of their Lord's Temple. The Council of Faith and the Militia would require atleast three parties approval in order to pass the laws or set of constructions deemed necessary. There goes your little cry of bickering, Sirus, as the Temples would inhieritly need to work together, rather than apart, if they sought to DO anything. This isn't about your ego, it's about selecting a suitable form of government. So place any notions of your attempts to appear the selfless little voice of Emjedah aside, and allow others to speak for themselves. You do not speak for the entire City. The point is that those tired of certain difficulties within their religion or it's organization could also find relief in Emjedah, Sirus, so using the excuse of the Spurian government's many failings is hardly grounds for such a system. Nor was I complaining, I was stating a proposal I see superior to your own. Emjedah needs a steady system, easily built within it's current population limitations, which can actually attract individual populations to assist their efforts. I do not believe this assembly does that. Yes, I know the coward Abel will not come to Emjedah. If a Taathian is reading this, you can simply look towards the Spurian post offices, where many weeks ago, I noted such. However, this was not meant to be an open debate. Posts: 412 (Mon, 19-Jun-2006 13:58:15) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	It seems adimently clear that all who have chosen to make thier voices heard on this topic , save those with self serving agendas, agree that Vincentiv's system is in fact the most practical, efficient, and stable so far from all systems proposed. Have the Temples of Sa and Set been contacted in regards to who will lead thier followers in Emjedah? If such guardians have already been appointed, now would be an excellent time to speak on behalf of your temple and the system of government most likely utilized. Additionally whoever is to lead the militia should be located as well. It is my humble opinion that the great General Gwoss should be asked to return to this position of honor and duty if he so desires. In any case however these three representatives are located and confirmed. They should all leave thier statements here regarding the new system of government, or should be seeked out and contacted in regards to these matters. This way any concerns or possilbe flaws in the system can be discussed, or those who will potentially hold these positions may assume thier responsibilities so that Emjedah may return to it's former prosperity promptly. I would STRONGLY suggest, however, that the new Council give each temple at least a small area to be theirs and theirs alone. Here is my reasoning, based on many long years of experience in Emjedahian politics. Given the closely divided nature of the city, it was always difficult for either side to get measures passed. When they did, it was often through trickery or coercion of some type. Such bare-knuckle politicking inevitably led to bitter feelings, as the side that lost felt badly cheated. I believe that if each side had an area, even a very small one, where only their own laws applied, it would help mitigate the bitterness of these inevitable wrangles. The defeated faction could at least console itself that while the measure they opposed was now in force through most of the city, it would NOT apply to at least that one tiny area. Really, it need only be a small precinct, less than a city block, around the temples. But as I mentioned above, for the city at large, I think Vincentiv's plan for a Council is excellent. A basic Council should be established as soon as possible to being the reconstruction process. Temporary shelter for the populace should be investigated. Basic material goods need to be provided. If we wish to establish a permanent population for this city, a whole new infrastructure needs to be built from the ground up. This can only be done with a functioning city government. Sirus' proposal would be a sound one if there was an strong population already living within the confines of the city. As of this moment, I don't even think its possible to reach the residential areas to establish who owns what property, and there is no way for new property owners to be found. It would be impossible for the Assembly to even be formed if one is unable to establish ownership. Vincentiv's proposal allows for an instant response to forming a ruling body to run Emjedah. I'm sure it would be a simple matter for each of the Temples to appoint three members that have enough interest in the future of Emjedah to work towards that end. The Militia should be formed again as soon as possible to defend Emjedah from possible incursions by people that see an already weakened and ruined city as an easy target. Already there are enough concerned parties involved to form this Council and beging the rebuilding. If, at a later date, it is decided that this form of government is inadequate, an alternative can be looked at. But if there is to be a future for Emjedah, it has to begin somewhere, with someone. This being the case, it is my opinion that Vincentiv should assume his seat on the council as well as appoint the aditional two seats belonging to the temple of Taath. At this point, though the government will be far from complete at this stage, the incomplete council should have two tasks at this point. Seeking out the remnants of the milita leadership, and finding who will rightfully be accepting the main seat of the militia. Additionally the two temples absent of leadership should be contacted directly regarding these matters, so that they may appoint a guardian to accept thier seats. If no one else is willing. With the council's approval, I will move forward and contact the remaing absent temples and will seek out the absent leadership of the militia, as a representative of Emjedah.
