Greetings to all of you ~
I wish to explain my thoughts on the Ragarn Situation. I apologize, in advance, for the length of my words. I feel it important and necessary. Before I dig down in to the heart of the matter, allow me to preface my words with a few short thoughts.
I think it important to realize that we, as a temple, are just now learning to work together. On any particular subject, I may shout words at you or pace back and forth in what appears to be rage. This is the nature of the Debate. It means that I feel strongly on a subject. It does not mean I bid you ill will. It does not mean we will always disagree. You are still my temple brethren and I would lay my life down for you without hesitation. I stand in your service as always.
Sa is not just the God of Magick. Sa IS Magick - Magick IS Sa. He grants those of other faiths and no faith at all the ability to use His Magick for reasons unknown to any but Sa Himself. In days past, Sa has taken Magick away from everyone. He can and may very well do so again.
Some of you have spoken and said that you wish not to offend those of other faiths by reminding them that Magick is a gift from Sa Himself. To you, I say that not only do you forget your duty as a Cleric or Mage of Sa but also that you disgrace the temple each time you step within it. Your timidness defines you. I would suggest to you that part of your calling is to teach others of Sa's presence in their life; regardless of any mark they may bear.
Some of you have spoke and said that Sa's Glory is not in the temple walls or a Mark of Sa but rather in our hearts. Those are honorable and good words. They sound very good. I encourage those who feel this way to retreat to the privacy of your homes and spend the rest of your lives feeling pleasant in the knowledge that you hold Sa in your heart. I shall report to you on the progress of His work as we make progress.
Have you ever entered the temple standing of your feet? No. Sa demands respect from all. That is the reason you will always enter His temple with your body as low to the floor as possible.
Ragarn, the one who sells runes just south of the temple platform, is a merchant. He seeks to make profit and fill his coffers with gold. That is the nature of a merchant.
Sadly, this merchant makes his profit through the gift of Sa's Magick. It is not Ragarn's Magick to sell. He performs an important service to Sa, one in which Sa allows him to profit from for his good actions. Yet I do not see Ragarn in the temple each morning thanking Sa for the gift of good fortune. I do not see Ragarn or anyone of his shop making mention of Sa. It is appalling.
For these reasons, I feel it not unreasonable to ask Ragarn to make tribute to Sa by way of bearing His Mark in the rune-shop. I also think it rational to have this Merchant donate a small portion of profits from each implantation as well as each renewal he performs to the temple coffers.
I plan to speak with Ragarn and explain this situation to him. Some of you who have met him in days past speak kindly of him. That is encouraging as I expect to see his good will and fine personality as he finally makes proper tribute to Sa's Magick.
Should Ragarn refuse to properly make tribute to Sa, actions will be necessary. I will not speak on this, as I shall give this Ragarn the benefit of good expectations.
I suppose that's it. Again I apologize for the length of my words. I encourage all of you speak your thoughts on this subject. I had originally thought that this would be a temple wide effort. Im saddened that this isnt the case but regardless, I continue to move forward with Sas wishes. Should any of you wish to join me in this effort, please say so as we are at our strongest when we work together.
Please be well and safe in your travels. I look forward to seeing each and every one of you very soon.
