A few years ago, on the other boards, several of us engauged in a discusion about the definition of art. In the end it is a very difficult subject.
Ultimately it is a matter of perception with a caviet, that being, perception varies. It isn't so much a matter of this type verses that type, though to
some it seems to be. It is a matter of the depth of that perception. Saddly, such thoughts cannot be convied very well. The 'great masters' are offered
up as proof of said perceptual depth, but do to the commonality of the proof, it has no real value as proof. Words cannot convey the meaning since perception
cannot be quantified (system with system problem). But, luck does exist, and I think I found at least that which convies my perception. It isn't as deep as
some, and is deeper than others, no great revelation there. It simply expresses in visuals that which I have not words to express. This is to me, the
foundation of art.
