It's head half embedded into the ground. Standing over it is a giant golden statue of a ghoblin. Small benches dot the area, and most of them are occupied at any given time of day or night. Stretched high above is a gossamer canopy flapping in the wind, offering a bit of protection from the weather. In this room are: Profit's statue, Throth's Hammer Obvious exits are: north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west, northwest dance to 90's hip-hop You dance to 90's hip-hop.

I'd have had a bigger problem with the passive voice and all those boring "is" verbs. I had a thing for imaginative verbs, and used to make a point of eliminating every possible instance of "is". Rather than saying "The center is dominated by a massive warhammer", say "A massive warhammer dominates the center". Rather than saying "Standing over it is a giant golden statue", say "A giant golden statue looms over it". I love that the benches "dot" the area, though. That's exactly the sort of thing I would look for in descriptive verbs. Audun's revised version: A cacophony of chatter in every imaginable language echoes all around the city square, which is rightly considered the "Hub of the City". A massive warhammer, head half embedded in the ground, dominates the center. A giant golden statue of a ghoblin looms over the warhammer, grinning mischievously. Small benches dot the area, and most of them are occupied at any given time of day or night. A gossamer canopy flaps in the wind high above the square, offering some protection from the weather. Dang, it's been a while.

I was so thankful we had other people writing sky room descriptions. I was a little bummed we never got to finish that job. It was supposed to tie into the higher city walls, large buildings, towers, etc.
